A major housing and community center in Central Marin County, designed by our office, recently sailed through the rigorous Marin County Entitlement process. We received unanimous approval from 3 separate boards: Design Review, Planning Commission, and City Council, with nary an objection from the public. When built, it will be one of the largest multi-family housing projects in the history of its host city. The 192-unit rental apartment complex will be a mix of market rate and designated affordable units. The focus of the development will be the multi-function Community Building, which will accommodate a neighborhood market, a bakery, a coffee bar, a leasing office, and the Community Center spaces which will be available to all tenants. State of the art solar energy systems and a host of sustainable design features will minimize the environmental footprint. Construction is expected to start in 18 months.
