9-screen multiplex theater located within the Kukui Grove Shopping Center in downtown Lihue.  The facility will be the fourth and most advanced of Hollywood’s facilities in Hawaii, and our third new project for them.  It will boast the largest screen on the islands, rivaling IMAX in size and quality, and all-digital projection.  As a novel presentation concept, the server racks which store and distribute the digital content will be on display, with their blinking lights a la Captain Kirk, as a design feature.

The building will incorporate a host of sustainable design features, including LED lighting throughout, Insulating Concrete Forms (wherein the foam used to form the concrete is left in place to serve as highly energy-efficient building insulation,) solar hot water heating, waterless and ultra low-flow plumbing fixtures, “light shelves” in the main lobby to maximize day-lighting, Low-E glazing, a “cool roof” membrane, and ultra high efficiency climate control systems.
