Extensive remodel of Harvey Klyce 1910 classic
Harvey Klyce was a well known architect-builder in Mill Valley around the turn of the 20th century. His homes are now coveted examples of a pure form of craftsman and shingle-style design, always beautifully conceived and executed. This 1910 classic, one of two adjacent "sister" homes built by a wealthy San Francisco businessman for his two recently married daughters, was in disrepair but essentially unaltered when purchased by its new owners. Removal of a decrepit and unsightly deck, added in the 1960's, and replacement with a smaller balcony and new deck to the side, enabled us to bring the impressive front facade back to its former glory. Extensive interior remodeling updates but preserves the original character of the house.
